Important information about our sales

As a small business, I face some unique challenges when it comes to handling commissions and fees. Both Comment Sold and my credit card processor charge fees on every sale.  If a coupon code is used, I am charged on the DISCOUNTED price of the item, and, similarly, if a coupon code is forgotten, I am charged on the FULL price of the item.  I have been honoring requests to apply coupon codes after checkout, but when I do that, I am not credited by Comment Sold or my credit card processor the difference in the commissions and fees.  I have been absorbing them and this is why a lot of boutiques do not credit back a customer if a coupon code is forgotten.

I completely understand that, in the excitement of a sale, it’s easy to forget to use a discount code, but it has become difficult for me to apply discount codes after sales are completed.  I never want it to feel like if a customer forgets the code, they’re simply out of luck—that’s not my intention at all. I want to be as fair as possible, especially since I value every customer and that is what this reminder is for.  I felt if you knew that a 60% off sale basically becomes 70% off (for me) every time someone forgets their code it would help you understand the importance of not forgetting the code.

I am committed to finding you great deals, and doing these sales, but these need to be sustainable for me to continue running them.  My goal is to make sure everyone can enjoy a sale without any challenges. With this being said I will be increasing the cart times to 10 minutes to allow for extra time to check out so everybody remembers the code. In addition, I  will go over how to use the code when waitlisting an item because this seems to be an ongoing issue.

I truly appreciate all of you and we will continue this chat live before Pink Friday:) Please email support@trendaboutique.com with any questions as we are always here to help.
